A day of firsts...

Annie works her magic on Uncle Dean and Auntie Amy

Today was a fantastic day for Annie, Nana, Mommy and Daddy. Although Daddy worked today, we all had a lot of fun bonding together.

The day started out like any other day (with Annie that is) with diaper changes and feedings. Shortly after she went down to sleep my Mom and I rushed out to Etobicoke with Annie in tow to get a gift certificate, food and a card out to Auntie Amy who was getting her hair done at a trendy salon.
While we waited for Amy's meal to be ready Nana and I took Annie for a walk along The Queensway. It was a beautiful day and we were more than happy to walk Annie Bananie around the neighbourhood.

After we delivered Amy's food to her hairdressers so she could still eat during her long appt. We drove out to Toronto to surprise my now Great-Grandma Susan (my Maternal Granfather's partner). Grandpa and Susan have owned an antique store on Queen Street West for many, many years--most of my life if not longer. Since Grandpa's passing, Susan runs the store alone and works very hard to maintain the business.

Susan was delighted to meet her first Great-Granddaughter and Annie once again charmed her way into her heart by being bright eyed and alert during the entire visit. Of course, Susan still had business to attend to as her trendy "artsy" customers came in and out. During our visit Annie and I had our first public 'feeding' session. Although nervous about discretion, I survived and Annie got what she cares most about--boobies! While there I also bought a beautiful antique side table to go in Annie's room. I felt it was important to choose something special that Annie will always have from her Grandpa and Susan.

Nana and I then drove back home to Burlington so we could pick up Daddy and have dinner before heading out again to Toronto to see Uncle Dean and Auntie Amy. Nana, Daddy and I took baby Annie for her first Kwality Indian food experience. She was awesome! She cried for a few minutes and then was soothed back to sleep by Daddy's comforting arms.

After dinner we made our way to see Uncle Dean and Auntie Amy at their home. We were introducing them to their niece Annie for the first time and could not wait! When we all finally met there were misty eyes and of course wide-eyed Annie charming her way into two more hearts!

Annie was quite taken with Uncle Dean and Auntie Amy and was staring into their eyes. I purposely prepared a bottle of breastmilk so that Dean and Amy would be able to lock into the gaze of their newborn niece.

Overall, a fantastic day filled with many happy memories.

Love,
Amber, Mason, Annie & Nana Share-Strom

That is SUCH a nice picture of Dean feeding the baby. She's just looking him right in the eyes and saying "Hey, you're not bad looking, at you're feeding me too! Not a bad deal."

  3. I know, I love how she is staring at him in appreciation and love. As of lately, when I feed her she shuts her eyes...wah!
