The Boobie-Monster

Just a quick note for tonight, as we had a loooong day today at the Hospital (6 hours... sheesh!), and Annie, Amber and I are very tired. Turned out all was well and they discharged us.

Yesterday Annie was assessed by Karin (her Midwife) during a home visit. Karin weighed her at 6 lbs 10 oz... Annie lost a whole pound (-13% of her birth weight - normally >10% means a direct referral to a doctor, but she gave us a second chance.). Karin noted that she seemed a bit dehydrated, so she suggested supplementing 1/2 oz of Formula after breastfeeding to get her fluids up until Amber's milk came in - it was a tough pill for Amber to swallow after working so hard to breastfeed. We did as we were told and Karin assessed her again today at 6 lbs 13 oz, so at least she's heading in the right direction, and her hydration was back up to normal. Amber's breast milk came in this evening, so Annie's officially off formula and back to straight breast milk. Hence her new nickname - Boobie-Monster.

We have received many requests for pictures, but I'm not sure I explained the new sideshow that appears on the right side of the page: I know, I know, too small to see detail right? Just click on the pictures (any picture) and that should open up a new window that takes you to our Picasa Web Album - there you will find most of the pictures we've posted online. Hopefully that helps!
We love you guys and thanks again for your love and support.

Love,
Mason, Amber, & Annie

  1. This is such a cute picture of Annie with the "paws and hat." She is adorable.
