Mason and Annie cuddling. Today was Daddy's last day at home with Annie before heading back to work. We opted for Mason to take a week now and save a week for later on or use it up as individual days as needed when Annie's a bit older. So I was not alone, we arranged to have my Mom come down for the week to help me with the transition and allow for me to sleep/relax etc.
Mason and I spent the entire day trying to get out of the house to go grocery shopping and pick up some last minute items before my Mom arrived at 9pm. Despite our best efforts, we did not get out of the house until 7pm as everytime we tried to leave Annie needed to be changed, cuddled, fed, etc or the phone rang! In the end, we still somehow managed to make my Mom wait for us in the
driveway well after 9pm...sorry Momma.
driveway well after 9pm...sorry Momma.When my Mom arrived we stayed up for a bit talking and then sent Mason to bed so he could get some Kwality (yes, with a K) sleep. The past few nights Mason was delirious as a result of sleep deprivation and did not make much sense. We were worried about his safety flying the airplane so we sent him to bed and told him not to worry about Annie. Boy, did he listen as he literally did not budge when she cried.
As sad as I was knowing he was going back to work so soon, we really enjoyed the week together getting to know Annie and bonding with our daughter.
