Yesterday Mason, Annie and I woke up happy and ready for a fun day together. We called Auntie Amy and Uncle Dean to see if they were up for a visit and thankfully they were. The boys have grown so much and JD (The Hulk) and AJ (Spiderman) were wearing the cutest outfits and were on their best behaviour. Annie for some reason was a bit fussy, but once we got out for a walk she was happy and fast asleep thanks to our wonderful new wrap.On our walk we stopped by Grandpa and Susan's store to say hi to Susan. This time a
round, Annie was fast asleep but soon woke up to say hi. Daddy had never seen the store before so it was nice to get a chance to show off what I had been talking about for all of these years.
round, Annie was fast asleep but soon woke up to say hi. Daddy had never seen the store before so it was nice to get a chance to show off what I had been talking about for all of these years. After visiting Susan, Dean, Amy, JD, AJ, Mason, Annie and I went for a stroll in a nearby park ( I can't remember the name now). The park was beautiful and filled with joggers, strollers, Mommies, Babies, and a whole lot of dogs and people lying on the grass--very Torontoish. We definitely don't have a park like that here, but we do have the lake nearby!

While visiting Dean and Amy we discovered that Annie LOVES the boys mobile. Anytime she started to cry we layed her in the boys pack and play and turned on the mobile, she was mesmerized. Unfortunately we had to keep winding up the mobile to calm her down. So, on the way home we stopped in at Wal-Mart to see if we could find a mobile that would help make Annie relax at bed time. We ended up with a great Fisher Price one that has a wireless remote and is on a 20 minute timer. It has a light show and various sounds--Annie was instantly mesmerized and QUIET the second we put her in her bassinet. We have since moved the mobile into her room and put it on her crib as we're slowly trying to get Annie used to her crib for when the time comes to transition her out of our room. So far, she doesn't like how 'soft' the mattress is compared to her bassinet mattress. We'll have to keep getting her used to it I guess.

Today we woke up happy and relatively well rested as Annie had a great sleep. We are beginning to see a pattern in her wake up times and Mason even commented on how he wakes up before she does and likened it to waking up 5 minutes before the alarm is set to go off. How you know it's coming, but wish you'd just be able to stay asleep. Although very true, we both like the predictability in her nighttime routine. She goes down now at 10pm, wakes up at 4am eventually falls back asleep by 5am after being fed/changed/cuddled and then is awake again by 8am for another round. She falls back alseep until 9:30am and then we start the day...and another cycle!
This morning when we woke up we celebrated a special day! Today is Skye's first birthday! We cannot believe that we got Skye when she was 6 weeks old and that Annie is 6 weeks old. We were commenting on how amazing it is that we as humans can take dogs away at such a young age to fend for themselves away from their Mothers and Fathers. It's so strange now that we have an idea of what that would be like. It makes me feel for Skye's parents and siblings. Maybe it's just my Mommy emotions, but it makes me sad. Although, I am sure Skye is a happy dog with us and we take care of her like she's our child too. Right now infact all three of my "children" are fast alseep! WOO HOO! We'll, I'm going to go take advantage of this quiet time and shower.
