Yummy Yams!

Our little Sweet Potato!

Today we started Annie on vegetables. I have been lovingly making all of her baby food and was eager to introduce her to real foods and not just baby cereal and breastmilk. We were planning on waiting, but since Annie is still breastfeeding every 2 hours I wanted to be able to share mealtime with her and establish more of a routine for mealtimes. She was very excited when I put her in her highchair at lunch time as she has come to learn it means food. We tried yams as her first real "food" and she was hesitant at first and wondered what I was feeding her so I stopped and breastfed her instead and waited until she decided she had enough milk. After that we tried yams again and she was a hungry little monkey. She LOVED them and was eager to get her first few bites. I can't believe how fast she is growing up! Soon we will be heading out to our playgroup to see our friends. Hopefully Annie wakes up soon from her nap so we're not late.

We just got back from our playgroup and it's so nice to get out and see everyone. Our group grows each week and the woman who runs the centre jokes that we need a bigger room. I think she is onto something as we're all literally squished side by side playing on the carpet with the babies. One of todays topics was how our babies all hate their sippy cups and won't drink anything of out them. So of course we all showed each other what brands we have etc. Sneaky little Annie decides to show off and show all those babies how it's done. For the first time she sat up, held her cup and drank some water. And to think, all this time we've been helping her, what a sneaky little monkey!

One of the Moms at the playgroup is a professional photographer and we were talking about our camera and I was telling her that although nice I really don't know how to use it. She gave me a few pointers and was practising using our camera to see how the settings would work. She snapped this awesome picture of Annie. I love it!
