At Ashley's Baby Shower

Yesterday Annie, Mason and I went to visit Buby and Zaida for an early brunch. It was a nice visit and it was nice for them to get to see Annie as it had been a long while since they saw her last. She had grown so much that Buby was surprised as she was not sure who Annie would look like. I think she was picturing a mini-Amber, not a mini-Ma$e. Either way, they both love her and couldn't get over all the things that she can do now.

We also went to my friend Ashley's Baby Shower. Ashley is 36 weeks pregnant and is due in December. She is having a boy that we've already decided will be Annie's boyfriend (when she's 35 of course!). Ashley's Mom and Grandma threw a beautiful shower and we all had a lot of fun celebrating and spoiling her and her baby-to-be.

On the way home we thought we would call Nana and see if she was home so we could stop by for a quick visit. She was on the 401 driving North so we decided to stop in at the nearest Swiss Chalet and have dinner together. It was almost Annie's bedtime and we were not sure how she would do, but thankfully she was fantastic. There were other SCREAMING babies in Swiss Chalet and we were just glad this time it was not our baby. We also got to see some awesome parenting techniques like the classic, "slap your baby when they're tired" tip!? Makes you wish you were a police officer so you could go over and slap some sense (not literally, although it would be fun) into those parents. I guess it was a lesson in What NOT to do as parents. It was sad that we had to witness this with our own eyes as we did not know what to say or do.
