This past weekend Mason, Annie, Henry, Skye and I packed up the car and made the trip up to Keswick to see my family for the weekend. It had been a LONG time since we saw everyone as the sick germs were making the rounds in the family.
Thankfully everyone was well again and we could all celebrate Dean's upcoming 30th birthday (yikes! 3-0) and Daniel's 20th. I still can't get over how old my brothers are! I still think of Daniel as 4 and Dean as 15. Strange, but I guess people sometimes get frozen in time with memories etc.
As much fun as it was celebrating the miletstone birthdays the babies seemed to take centre stage. They are all starting to discover new things. Annie can sit. Alex just got his first tooth and JD is slowly getting used to eating solids. We cannot wait until they are all big enough to interact with each other. For now they seem to just smile at the baby.
The best part of my weekend was when Amy, Dean, Miranda and Darren were sitting on the couch. Annie was in Amy's arms. Annie then reached to Dean, so Dean held her. Then she reached out to Miranda, so Miranda held and snuggled her. Then she reached out to Darren who did the same. Annie then thought this game was a hoot and decided to try it again and went the other way all the way back to Auntie Amy's arms. It was nice to see as she's starting to really get a little personality and be a happy little girl.
Yesterday we had Annie's first appointment with her pediatrician. It was like winning the lottery when we finally found one accepting patients in Oakville. I was so excited I called all my Mommy friends who were looking for a Pediatrician to share the news. Now we all have the same doctor!
Here are her stats:
Head Circumference: 42cm
Length: 71.5 cm
Weight: 14.8lbs (with a soaking wet diaper on though...so prob much less).
The doctor commented on how cute, curious and happy Annie was as the other babies were wailing and Annie was just checking her out.
Delightful post, honey. It'll make all of us who were there smile at the memories years from now.
