Tummy Time Fun!

A smile during Tummy Time!!

Since Annie was about a week old we've been doing Tummy Time daily. Until yesterday it was the dreaded parts of both of our days. Annie hated it and would scream and scream until we caved in and flipped her over. Sometimes she would be only on her tummy for under a minute, other times she would cry immediately, either way it was frustrating for all of us.

The worst came a few weeks ago when Annie learned to roll from her back to her front but could not figure out how to roll the other way. It resulted in several late night/early morning rescues from the crib where Annie would be hysterically crying.

The past few days though, she has fallen asleep on her stomach and stayed asleep so we thought maybe she will enjoy tummy time soon. To our utter amazement she is actually liking playing on her tummy now. So much so that she can even entertain herself and doesn't need me coaxing her and reminding her that everything's fine in between her whines.

She is even starting to show readiness to crawl and is worming her way along her playmat. Yikes, as much as we're happy for her to be over her fear of Tummy Time, we are not ready for crawling. I guess it will happen regardless at some point, it's just a matter of time. I guess one of our next big things is to start baby proofing!
