For the past several years I have made a point of not going anywhere near a mall or grocery store on Christmas Eve as the chaos was just too much. Too much for just me pre-Annie. Well, today, with Annie in tow we braved the last minute shoppers and did the unthinkable.
Annie and I braved the cold and headed out to get some stuff we could not find last night at any of the 24 hour stores. I had quite the list of exotic items like Xanathan Gum and other weird baking supplies and was not sure exactly where to even begin to find what I needed. Thankfully we went early so there was on of those awesome "Mommy" parking spots left at Fortinos. I as per usual underestimated how much cart space I would need and ended up having to re-work things, get a cart and collapse the stroller, tuck it under the cart and put Annie's carseat and Annie in the cart. It worked but it was crazy as she was tired and not in the best of moods with all the chaos going on around her.
Luckily I got everything on the list and more and am happy to report that we are now ready to celebrate our first Christmas Eve as a family of 3. I can't wait to share in all the joys of the holiday season with Annie. This year she obviously doesn't really understand what's going on...but hopefully she'll have an idea next year.
Looking forward to creating some new family traditions tonight with Annie and Mason. I'll post some new pictures soon. I hope everyone has a great Christmas with their families and loved ones.
Love,
Amber, Mason, Annie, Henry & Skye
