Today is Boxing Day, and this year it marked the Annual Christmas Celebration with Amber's Mom & siblings. It was hosted by Dean & Amy at their place in Toronto. It was fantastic to have everyone together and for Annie to spend some time with her cousins Jonathan & Alex.
We decided to cut back this year and cut out sibling gifts... turned out not everyone decided to follow the rules, and Darren & Mira presented Daniel with a portrait of Daniel and his beloved Chihuahua Brain, airbrushed by Darren. The painting was a memorial to Brain, who passed away last year.
Annie made out like a bandit; she got a walker toy, an interactive table, musical toys, clothes, bath toys, feeding bowls and plates, a personalized hand-knit sweater and of course the (in)famous Potty pictured above... not bad for a year we cut back!
Amber and I each received a stocking filled with our favourite things, a framed photo of Dean, Amy, JD & AJ, and two copies of a beautiful photobook (one for us, one for Annie) from Max.
Poor AJ has been running a fever and feeling under the weather for the past couple of days, so Dean & Amy decided to take him to the hospital to get it checked out. Max, Daniel, Mira, Darren, Amber and I pitched in once Dean, Amy & the boys left to tidy up after the party to help pay Dean & Amy back for hosting our gathering.
Overall, we had a fantastic time, gave and received some holiday cheer, and spent some quality time with loved ones. We hope all is well with AJ, and hope he's back to his smiley-self soon.
That picture of Annie is priceless. I love it. It needs to be shown at her wedding for sure. Funny how I am already planning that slide show huh?? Ha...Oh yeah..and you were right. Best/Worst kept secret. No kidding.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys and that beautiful baby.
