Today we returned home after a fantastic weekend away visiting Gramma and Papa in London. We had a lot of fun spending time together and enjoyed the wonderful meals, bathtime fun, hot tubing, making granola and hanging out as a family. In addition to seeing Barb and Don we also saw Great-Grammie, Aunt Ginny and Uncle Malcolm. Annie was her usual charming self and enjoyed being passed around the table to loving arms.
Another fun part of the weekend was visiting with our University friends Andrea and Travis. I met Andrea in first year university on the very first day in residence. We have remained great friends over the years and have watched each other meet our now husbands, get teaching positions, get our first homes and now they got to meet our beautiful baby girl. It was nice to see them as they drove several days travelling from Kenora. Another bonus this weekend was the beautiful weather.
The weather was fantastic but when we came home, that was another story! When I opened our front door I was hit with a blast of hot, muggy air. I quickly checked our thermostat and it was reading 86 degrees...that's right 86! Needless to say we were running late to our doctor's appt for Annie. Thankfully Mason quickly dealt with the air conditioning and got it up and running just in time.
At Annie's appointment today she weighed in at a whopping 12.4lbs (40th percentile). She grew 3cm over the past 6 weeks and is still in the 95th percentile for height. There was nothing of note really. She had a shot and cried, but took it like a champ and was happy to be comforted with a quickie feeding session. I mentioned how Annie is demand feeding and "demands" I feed her ever hour that she's awake. Dr. Mascairn said that it's probably more that she thinks she's hungry than anything and knows if she fusses enough she'll be fed. Either way the kid can eat! He said if she can go up to 6 hours at night, then the same goes for the day. I am not sure about that as it's not him that has to deal with a cranky, screaming baby.
When we got back from the doctor's appointment our thermostat was reading 83 degrees...so needless to say it's topless Monday at the Fraser's and we're all boiling hot and a bit cranky. Annie was so overheated that we put her in her bouncy seat and stuck her seat (with her in it) over the air conditioning vent to cool her off. Mason was funny and said he wished he was small enough to fit over the vent. So, here we are dying in the heat but enjoying family time together.
