Annie is 100 days old today. It's crazy to think that 100 days ago we did not know her and that we were eagerly awaiting her arrival. In 100 days I feel like I have not only fallen so deeply in love with her, but that I/we know everything there is to know about her (so far).
Here are the top 10 things we've learned over the past 100 days.
10. When babies cry, it doesn't always mean they are hungry.
9. Breastmilk is like baby Heroin. Once they taste they'll do anything for their next fix.
8. Diapers won't change themselves, despite wishing they would.
7. Annie is and always will be the best-rested member of our family.
6. If you are calm, your baby will be too (99% effective).
5. Buy used; she'll poop on it anyway.
4. Cloth diapers are much easier than they sound.
3. Routine, Routine, Routine!
2. Showering is like going to the spa.
1. Never, Never, NEVER wake a sleeping baby.
Ha! Love the list! Keep updating it--there are so many more things you'll want to add along the way.
ReplyDeleteAmber, you and Mason are natural parents, and Annie is really lucky to be your daughter.
Love you,
Mom
Hey Sista, Ma$e and Annie B.
ReplyDeleteI love, love that little girl. She is so adorable I can't handle it. It was nice to visit you last week and see how calm she is and how alert she is getting.
The list is funny. I don't know why there aren't more things out there like that. Unfortunate really that despite millions of women doing the 'mom' thing, you'd think they would let the 'newbies' into the loop.

Thanks guys, we will have to update the list as we continue to learn things with Annie. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her too! I am sure there are some books out there with New Mom advice, I don't think people would read it though. For some reason you want to make your own mistakes and learn for yourself. The best baby training is on the job training I guess.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky to have Annie as our daughter, she makes parenthood easy, enjoyable and fun. She also cracks us up. Today she watched her Baby Einstein DVD for the first time and was cooing so loudly. Man, the creator of these series is a genius. Film regular objects for 30 seconds each and call it a baby movie.
