Nap Success = Happy Mommy

Annie loving her Jolly Jumper

For the past few days Annie went on a sleep strike during the day. I was lucky if she slept for an hour combined and by the time Mason came home from work I was exhausted. Today I was determined to make her sleep. I wasn't sure how I was going to get her sleepy but figured I needed to exhaust the poor kid so she'd sleep. So, out came all of my new Mommy tricks--the bumbo, play mat and Jolly Jumper were all put to good use today. We tried the Jolly Jumper for the first time with her yesterday and she hated it, so I was hopeful today would be different. Thankfully she loved it and couldn't get enough! With all the 'exercise' she was getting she gradually became sleepy (or exhausted, still not sure which one). Either way, it all worked like a charm as in total today she slept for almost 5 hours. It was a nice break and I was able to get caught up on my Mommy reading "The No-Cry Nap Solution" and learn some new techniques to help her sleep. She's a fantastic sleeper at night but for some reason daylight does funny things to her.

For those of you who enjoy the Annie Movies, I have made a link of various movies for you to see. Check out the latest one of her in her Jolly Jumper.

Love,
Amber

  1. Honey, as the weeks and months go by, she will sleep less and less during the day. One day soon, she will just have a good nap or two and be up the rest of the day.
But she is so darned cute, it won't even seem like work!

    Love you,

    Mom

  2. I know! I'm wondering what we'll do and how I'll function when that day comes.

  3. That day is here, honey. It sunds like she is a healthy, intelligent baby who wants to be awake during the day. Good job, Mom and Dad!
