Well, there's been a bit of a blog post drought. The past two weeks have been pretty hectic around here. The week before March Break, Mason had a whole week off work with Annie and I. We loved being able to spend every day with him. He had not had a week off work since Annie arrived so it was nice to be able to get out and do things as a family. The last time he was off work it was a bit of a gong show trying to figure out all the ins and outs of our new life as a family of three. We had such a great time together and look forward to the next time we can all have a week off again.
Over March Break Annie and I went to visit my Sister and Darren for the week. It was nice to be able to get in some sister time in before Baby Barry arrives. We also got in some visits with friends and family. The weather was fantastic and we got to get out for walks a lot. Annie and I walked to see my Mom daily...sometimes we saw her twice each day. It was so nice for both Annie and I to get in some much needed family time. In the end, it really made me want to be closer to family. We're not sure when/where or how but Mason and I agree that being this far away from our family is not what we want. So, it's part of our goals to be closer to family sooner than later. We were hoping we'd win the 41 million 649 draw but that didn't happen :( So, I guess we have to wait until we get jobs in the area.
Today was a very special day. It was our nephew's Jonathan Dean and Alexander Joseph's 1st birthday party. It was such a great day celebrating with all of the friends and family. The boys had a rough start being born 10 weeks premature. Jonathan was 4.1oz and Alexander was 3.12lbs since then they have both caught up and are now both well over the 20lb mark and they don't turn 1 for another ten days! It has been such a joy to see the boys grow this past year. I am in awe of how great they are and how wonderful it has been to get to know them and watch my brother and sister-in-law parent their twin boys so effortlessly.
On the way home Mason and I were talking about how Annie's 1st birthday is only a matter of weeks away. Where has the time gone? My baby is growing up so fast. It is one month exactly until I go back to work. I can't believe it. I was counting on that 649 win to be the answer to not having to go back?! :( I guess I gotta play the lottery to win. I see how people get hooked now.
For those of you wondering what's new with Annie here are some things she is doing as of lately.
- She uses the potty daily and is actually successful .
- She can go from sitting to crawling position.
- She can stand assisted.
- She can snap her fingers.
- She gives real kisses, blows kisses, gives high fives, waves hello, bye-bye and claps her hands.
- She can army crawl while screaming to be rescued :)
- She can say "Mama," "Dada," "Baby," "Hi," and "All Done!"
- She can sign: eat, milk and more.
- She eats real food and feeds herself.
- She can drink water from a straw.
