Growing up too fast!
Today we had Annie's 9 month check up (can you believe she'll be 9 months old on Thursday!!). She had only gained 1oz and did not grow in length over the previous two appointments so we were not sure how much weight she would gain or how long she would be. To our surprise, Annie put on 1.5lbs and is now 16.5lbs and she grew 1.5" and is now 29.5" long. As happy as we were to see that she's growing, she is officially too big for her bucket seat. So, this means packing away more stuff for Meghan and Miranda's babies.
So, today while Annie and I were at Mother Goose singing songs and playing with our friends Mason set up Annie's Big Girl car seat. On the way home, Annie rode in style and comfort in her new carseat. As exciting as it is to see her grow, it's a bit sad when she passes each new milestone. It's one step closer to her growing up. Sometimes I wish she would say little forever, but I guess that defeats the whole purpose of watching her grow and blossom.
Yesterday, we went to a 'reunion' with our midwives. It was so nice to be able to see them and catch up briefly. It was a weird set up. With so many new parents and babies, you think we'd all have something in common to talk about. Despite the common ground, everyone was there to see only 5 people in the room so it got a bit weird 'waiting' for your turn. Thankfully we showed up early and were able to chat for a while before it was chaotic. Karin and Abigail (our midwives) were happy to see us and see Annie too. They both chuckled and said, "see you soon" as I guess they have a very high return rate of people who come bakc to them to have their other children. I have made it very clear to pretty much the whole universe that I would not ever go through pregnancy, labour and delivery with out my midwives. They are definitely angels on Earth. If I could still go back to them each week just to be reassured I was doing the 'right' thing I'd be there in a heartbeat.
Here's Annie's 9 month stats:
Head Circumference: 43cm
Height: 75cm or 29.5"
Weight: 16.5lbs
I love that little girl and am in awe of her. I can't wait to watch her grow up and meet all her milestones.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad though that they grow up so quickly. I am sure Darren and I will be saying the same thing in short order. It still amazes me that you're a mom and a great one at that. I still can't believe in a few short months that I will be a mom too.
I so look forward to the day when all of our kids play together. How much fun will that be.
Hug your little girl for me. I can't wait to see you guys this weekend.
