We have been having the great ear piercing debate in the Fraser household for many, many months (years really). We have discussed this issue in depth from all angles since well before we even knew or conceived Annie. Initially Mason was against it as he didn't know anyone who had their baby's ears pierced. Not sure why this is, as I got my ears done as an infant, don't I count?!
Recently he came around and realised that as long as we made sure Annie wasn't in pain that he saw no harm in piercing her ears young. As an extra percaution, we bought Emla (numbing) cream and waited over an hour until her earlobes were completely numb.
I also asked my Mommy group (Momstown) and any Moms I met at the pool or out and about who had their daughter's ears pierced where they got it done. The consensus was Visage at the mall was the best place to go, so tonight with numb ears in tow, we took Annie to get her ears pierced.
I am happy to report that Annie was amazing. Not so much as a flinch, tear or whimper. I think was more nervous than she was. She has not yanked at her ears and doesn't notice they are even there, so I am hoping this will remain the case. Mason and I cannot believe how grown up she looks with earrings, it's like she's aged 13 years in the past 3 hours.
Hey Fraser Family,
ReplyDeleteAnnie looks absolutely adorable with her ears pierced. I am glad that she wasn't in any pain and clearly is just one happy baby. She does look so grown up. It's amazing. Don't go tatooting her next cause I am not ready for that stage yet. Just kidding. She looks fantastic and you guys make cute babies. I can't wait for the day when all our babies are in one room playing together...aww. Family love.
