Well, we had our 38 week midwife appointment today and unfortunately there's no real news to share. I am 1cm dilated and am thinning out, at this point, I'll take what I can. While at the appointment, we received another piece of advice--unsolicited if you can believe that. Our midwife Karin reminded us yet again that I will "know" when I'm in labour. Mason says if he had a nickle for everytime he heard this piece of advice Annie would be financially set to attend Harvard Medical School. Now, obviously that will be the case, but why must she continue to remind me of this fact? It seems rather odd that for millions of years women all around the world have been going into labour and giving birth to beautiful babies and all we can tell those who follow in their footsteps about labour is "you'll know!" We can send men/women to the moon, detect DNA and do all these amazing things with technology but no one knows the secret to what makes labour start....so for those of you who are looking to make your fortunes, or to the spies that keep stealing my ideas there's your million (possibly billion) dollar idea!

Million Dollar Baby

We we can tell you if you really want to know. But then you'd probably rather have her stay inside you forever. "you'll know" is much nicer.
ReplyDeleteAmber, I really don't know what it's like to take a baby/babies to full term, so I will spare you my advice on feeling better. Just know that we think about you every day and we love you very, very much.

I agree with Dean and Amy...I heard some crazy stuff on Inside Edition where this lady was pregnant for like 47 YEARS!! Messed up huh? I hope that helps put your mind at ease...a little. 40 weeks def sounds like a better deal to me.
