Happy Earth Day

Today is my first official day of Maternity Leave. It feels weird to be on Mat Leave without a baby. I was hoping to have all this 'extra' time off with Annie as I have now been off work for almost 6 weeks. I am hopeful she'll come soon so we can have as much time together as possible.

I have tried to use this time to prepare for Annie's arrival by cooking and freezing meals, doing laundry, cleaning the house, relaxing and sleeping while I can. I have to say the novelty of it all wore off long ago. That and as the days go by, my energy level is decreasing dramatically. I am not only looking forward to meeting my precious baby girl, but am also really anxious to be able to do 'normal' things again--even the small things like put on and take off my socks and shoes!

Not only is today the first day of my Mat Leave, but it's also Earth Day. As I watched the news and Oprah they talked about how to improve our ways and how we are essentially ruining our planet, it makes me wonder what type of world Annie and her future siblings will live in. I know that Mason and I are doing our part, but what more can we do to erase our carbon footprints? I am still not sure I know the answer to this question just yet, I guess it's something we will continue to work on.

  1. Wow--it's already your first day of Mat Leave? Time Flies. I have no doubt that baby Annie will make her appearance really soon. I think she is just making sure that you and Mason have figured out ways to 'go green' and do your part to erase your carbon footprint. Maybe that is your homework before she arrives??

    Love you all,
