New Way to Clean the Potty?!

Our Happy 8 Month Old!

Annie turned 8 months old yesterday. It is hard to imagine that she is almost a year old. I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. I am loving each new day, but dreading the return to work in a few more months. I don't even like to think about it as it's hard to imagine leaving her with someone else. It keeps me up some nights as I really, cannot imagine what it's going to be like to drop her off at daycare. I do all I can to enjoy every moment I am able to spend with her and try not to complain about the mundane aspects of parenthood as I know one day I will miss all of this and wish I was at home with her.

Yesterday Annie and I went to our first Mother Goose class. We tried to sign up for one earlier, but it's a lottery in Burlington so you are considered "lucky" to be able to attend. Annie was by far the oldest baby there, and was laughing, dancing and clapping along to the music. She also had the most hair so everyone thought she was much older than she was. We look forward to going again next week and playing with our new friends.
So, Annie's potty adventures are improving with each day. Today she peed three times and pooped three times on the potty. Normally, after each "success" I put Annie into her crib and clean the potty. Tonight however, Mason and I were singing to Annie while she was on the Potty and when she was "successful" was around bathtime. Both Mason and I thought the other person had cleaned the potty and went about doing Annie's bedtime routine of bathing her.
We started the process together and then I went downstairs to check my email while Mason has Daddy time with Annie. They play with her bath toys that he's given silly names to like the alligator toy named Ali Sharif Abdul Jabar or her toy pigs named, H1, N1 and Swiney. It's pretty funny to see as her little toys all have funny voices too. After bathtime was over, Mason dried Annie off and carried her into her bedroom where Skye was hanging out and licking the potty. Mason then yelled down to me, "Honey, did you clean the potty?" I said no, I thought he did as I was running the bath. He then laughs out loud and says, I didn't clean it either but it's empty! Skye was then licking her lips and the potty. So, needless to say we are NOT letting her cuddle us in bed nor is she allowed to lick us for the next year, maybe even 2 for pulling this stunt. On the bright side, it was one less potty of poop and pee I had to clean. I just hope Skye doesn't get sick.

  3. Yup, but at least Ringo cleaned up after himself and the other dogs. That was gross, but funny. We now watch Skye like a hawk. It had not even occured to me that dogs would eat that stuff. Apparently since googling it, its fairly common. Common or not, it's gross and we don't want her to do it again--EVER!
