Annie cooling off on the couch.
Well, the past few days at the Fraser household have not been very fun for anyone. Mason, Annie and I are all sick.
Mason has been to the doctors three times in 4 days with three different diagnoses. First he just had a cold, then he had an upper respiratory infection and the last visit they determined it was either strep throat or pnemonia. Either case is not good, but at least they did a swab and he had a chest x-ray to determine what's really up.
Annie has had a fever of 101 (ish) for the past two days. Thankfully her temp is now down in the normal range 95-98 so I'm happy to see she's slowly getting better. We have taken her to the hospital and clinic twice now and each time she's miraculously healthy. We have a follow-up appt with our family doctor on Thursday so hopefully he can take the time needed to really assess her. Yesterday's doctor was awful and used a tongue depressor on her to get her temperature with a Motomaster laser. WTF? What ever happened to an ear thermometer? I think next time we'll bring along our ear thermometer to save Annie some discomfort.
As for me, I am still very sick and have a high fever over 101, have a nasty cough and feel just plain crummy. A few days ago the doctor said it was the flu, so I am hoping the worst is over as it's been three days now. I was joking with my Mommy friends the other day how much I took for granted having sick days where I could sleep all day long to fight off the cold. Now, I unfortunately don't have that luxury as I have to take care of Annie. Thankfully she has been amazing and despite wanting to breastfeed non-stop when she's awake. However, in her defense she has been sleeping like a champ. Last night she was a smart little cookie and slept the night again so we could all catch up and get better.
We are looking forward to having the weekend together and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get well before then so that Annie can enjoy her first Hallowe'en. Her costume is adorable. I will have to take some pictures and post them soon.
Love,
Amber
