Today we celebrated Annie's 1st Birthday party. We had it at the Community Centre down the street from our house. It was a great venue and we had a lot of room to eat, play and mingle.
Poor Annie was a bit of a cranky baby at first as she only slept for an hour and missed out on 2 hours of sleeping as her nap was cut short so she could bathe, get into her new outfit and make it to her party on time! The poor kiddo took a while to warm up to the guests and refused to go to anyone but Mama, even Daddy was out of the question. It wasn't until we sugared her up with her birthday cupcake that she got her second wind and warmed up to her family/friends who were there to help celebrate.
The party was a success and we all had a great time. We just wish it wasn't over so fast as it really did fly by. Afterwards I could not believe how I had such little time to talk to everyone while trying to be a host. Apparently this is the norm--or so I am told.
Annie got some great gifts that we played with when she got home. Check the May 2010 folder for pictures of her new Bubble Machine from Auntie M and Uncle D. She LOVES it, and we love watching her reaction. Way too cute!
Thanks to our family and friends for helping us with setting up, bringing food, and cleaning up. Annie's birthday would not have run as smoothly without all of your help and support. Our Birthday girl was pooped and happily went to sleep after a bath, quick feed and snack. Hopefully there will not be any surprises and she'll sleep through the night.
